Acknowledgement of Country
Honouring the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which our clinics operate
Real Life Chiropractic acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which our five clinics operate, and pays respect to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise the continuing connection to land, waters and community of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Traditional Custodians of Our Clinic Locations
Cessnock & Kurri Kurri
Traditional Custodians: the Wonnarua Nation
Our Cessnock and Kurri Kurri clinics sit on Wonnarua country in the Hunter Valley. Cessnock City Council recognises the Wonnarua Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the majority of the local government area. Kurri Kurri is a Wonnarua word meaning 'the beginning' or 'the first'.
Morisset & Watagan Park (Cooranbong)
Traditional Custodians: the Awabakal people
Our Morisset and Watagan Park clinics, at Cooranbong on the shores of Lake Macquarie, sit on Awabakal country. We acknowledge the Awabakal people as the Traditional Custodians of these lands and waters.
Narrabri
Traditional Custodians: the Gamilaraay / Gomeroi (Kamilaroi) Nation
Our Narrabri clinic stands on the lands of the Gamilaraay people, also known as Gomeroi or Kamilaroi, in north-western New South Wales.
This acknowledgement is offered with respect to the Wonnarua, Awabakal and Gamilaraay/Gomeroi peoples, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who visit and work in our clinics.
